British racing driver, Clayton Kingman hits another milestone in his motorsport career as he's invited to drive the legendary Lotus 59, up the hill during the Goodwood Festival of Speed (FOS) in 2016.

Clayton commented, "This is an unbelievable opportunity for me, and one that is a complete dream come true. To think a few years ago I was just a motorsport fan and now, here I am, about to climb into a piece of motorsport history - I simply cant believe it!'

Clayton, who is well known on social media for his 'Twitter to Track' campaign first started out as nothing more than a fan of the sport until a conversation on twitter sparked a new venture, to become a driver. He has since competed in various Dunlop VAG Trophy and MINI Challenge races.

Goodwood Festival of Speed is an annual event which hosts an array of cars from every era and draws in drivers from across the globe such as triple time world champion, Lewis Hamilton and past champion, John Surtees MBE.

Clayton will attempt to be the quickest up the infamous 'Goodwood Hill' whilst driving the Lotus 59 that was featured heavily in the film 'RUSH' in 2013.

He comments, "I was last at Goodwood FOS in 2014, I vowed then that I would, one day, drive at this event - I didn't expect it to be quite this soon, nor in such an incredible car. This is a story that I'll be telling the grandchildren in years to come!'

Carole Arnold, owner of the Lotus 59 restored to the James Hunt Brands Hatch winning livery is happy to have the car at Goodwood FOS. The Arnold family has expressed it’s excitement at the prospect of seeing Clayton drive the car at such an iconic event -

“The car is too iconic to be sat still, Ive always wanted to see it driven up the hill and since meeting Clayton, this has now become a reality"

Clayton would like to personally thank - Arnold Restoration, APM Customs, Graham & Leigh, Drive Southwest and Dick Lovett for their continued support throughout his career and this latest opportunity at the FOS.

The Goodwood Festival of speed takes place on 23-26th of June at Goodwood House, Chichester.
